Near-Surface Geophysics
In addition to geophysical surveys for the oil exploration industry, GII is engaged in environmental and engineering geophysics, as well as groundwater resources exploration.
Rapid and accurate mapping of the structure and physical properties of the subsurface is essential to a variety of applications and therefore, much attention is devoted to shallow subsurface surveys:

Civil engineering
Environment
Groundwater
Archeology
Earthquake hazard & risk assessment
Vibration monitoring
Detailed aquifer mapping
Location of subterranean ruins
Site response for   construction of bridges, runways, large buildings, electric & nuclear power plants
Detection of oil leaks & seepage of toxic materials
Mapping of  contaminant
flow
Void detection
Mapping of geological faults
Detection of underground pipes, cables & storage tanks
Monitoring sea water intrusion and salinity estimation
-
Mapping soil / bedrock contact
Waste sites exploration
Wellsite Geology
-
Calculation of elastic dynamic parameters
Sinkhole investigation

For studying the shallow subsurface, GII utilizes state of the art methods and technologies:

* Seismic methods: refraction (P&S waves), reflection, surface wave analysis and borehole measurements

* Engineering Seismology

* Vibration Monitoring

* Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

* Geoelectric & Electromagnetic

* Microgravity
